People come to us when

  • They have had, or are about to have, an amputation and need a first prosthesis
  • Their socket feels loose, tight or is rubbing
  • A prosthesis is due for replacement or needs repairs
  • They want to get back to running, surfing, the gym or work
  • They would like a second opinion on their current prosthesis
  • They have moved to the Sunshine Coast and need a local prosthetist

A socket made for you

The socket is what decides whether a prosthesis is comfortable. Maegan captures the shape of your limb with a 3D scan or a plaster cast, makes a clear check socket to test the fit, and adjusts it before your final socket is made.

Volume changes, rubbing and pressure spots are reviewed at follow-up appointments, so the fit keeps up with your limb.

Components matched to your goals

Feet, knees, liners and suspension are chosen around how you want to live. We use components from established manufacturers, including Össur and Ottobock, and explain the trade-offs in plain language, including what your funding is likely to cover.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see a prosthetist?+
No. You can contact us directly. Some funding bodies need a referral, prescription or approval before they pay for a prosthesis. We will tell you if yours does.
How long does it take to get a new prosthesis?+
A typical lower-limb fitting takes around 4 to 8 weeks from assessment to delivery. It can take longer while funding is approved, or if your limb is still changing shape. You will get a realistic timeline at your first appointment.
Can I keep my current prosthetist and still get a second opinion?+
Yes. A second opinion does not mean you have to switch. You decide what happens next.
Do you do home visits for prosthetic appointments?+
Yes. Assessments, scanning, fittings and reviews can be done at home across the Sunshine Coast. Fabrication and some adjustments happen in the workshop.
How is a prosthesis funded?+
Common pathways are NDIS (self-managed or plan-managed), DVA, WorkCover and private health insurance, or you can self-fund. We prepare the assessment, quote and reports your funder needs.
